High Jump Policy
Athletes in the U6-U8 age groups must use a Scissors action when performing
the Hight Jump. The Flop is not permitted.

Smoking

In following with SA Little Athletics smoking policy, NO SMOKING is permitted
on the MAIN OVAL when children are competing, or in or around the SHED.
Weather Policy
The health and wellbeing of all athletes, officials and volunteers is
a priority issue for Hallet Cove Little Athletics Centre.
Extremes of weather can have an adverse affect on participants of events,
particulary extreme heat.
As such, Hallett Cove Little Athletics Centre has endorsed a Heat Policy
and a Sun Smart Policy to ensure the safety of all involved in Little Athletics.

The following applies to all Friday Night meets held at Hallett Cove:
- If the temperature at 5:00pm as announced on FM102.3, AM 5AA or
on the
Bureau of Meteorology website is 37° or above, then the Little
Athletics meeting will be cancelled. A notice will be placed on the front page of the web site at 5pm to confirm the cancellation.
- For wet weather we will attempt to hold a meet, although some events
will be cancelled for safety reasons, such as high jump and hurdles.
The following weather policy applies to State Association Events
- If the temperature as forecast by the
Bureau of Meteorology at 11:30am on the day BEFORE the event is
over 36 degrees, the event ill be subject to a alternative hot weather
program. Hot weather programs are issued for each Association event.
- The hot weather program will continue to apply even if a subsequent
forecast revises the temperature down.
- Depending on the conditions on the day, some events (e.g distance
runs) may be cancelled.
