About Us - Tiny Tots

Tiny Tots was included into Little Athletics in 1992 and began at Hallett Cove in 1996. Tiny Tots follows the same theme as Little Athletics and that is Family, Fun and Fitness. The fundamental skills of running, jumping and throwing are approached through "appropriate" activities for 3-5* year olds. Emphasis is not on competition but on the development of young children and this is incorporated in play and relatively unstructured games.

Each week we try to incorporate at least one regular athletics event into the program. This gives the Tiny Tots the opportunity to try the events that the 'big kids' do like shot put, discus, high jump, long jump etc.

Tiny Tots has proved a very popular activity here at Hallett Cove, with some thirty toddlers registered last year. To help us take care of these kids, parents will be rostered to help out with the activities. This will also give us the opportunity to see our other children compete.

* Note that children MUST already be 3 years old to commence Tiny Tots. Our insurance policy does not cover children below the age of 3. You can commence Tiny Tots at any point in the season , as soon as you have turned 3.
