Getting Involved >> Officials Courses

Graded officials are very important to have in our centre, as they help our athletes learn the rules of the events. Our aim is to have a graded official at each event every week. We need at least another 12 officials to make this possible!

"C" GRADE OFFICIALS COURSE

PURPOSE:

This course is the first step in Officiating within Little Athletics. The Course provides the basic knowledge to allow a parent to Officiate at Centre Level and assist at Association Run Events.
"C" Grade is a pre-requisite for doing a "B" Grade Course

WHO:

Applicants must be at least Under 13 Registration Age or older.

COST:

There is no cost to participants for this course..

TIME:

Approx. 3 hours

WHERE:

Hallett Cove LAC :: Sunday 11th November, 10am - 1pm

Any Centre may run a "C" Grade Officials Course by writing to the Education Director, requesting a Course. A qualified "B" Grade Official or higher can run a Course as long as the Course is registered with the Officials Club first, this is so the Club can organise the appropriate material and the Association to advertise the Venue to other interested Centres, Parents and Athletes.

NB: Under certain circumstances Qualified "C" Grade Official will be allowed to run a "C" Grade Course, but must be ratified with the Officials Club prior to conducting the Course

"B" GRADE OFFICIALS COURSE

PURPOSE:

This course is the next level above being a "C" Grade Official.

WHO:

(a) Applicants must have attained the Age of 16 Years.
(b) You need to have at least One Season Of Officiating on the Specific "B" Grade Event at both Centre and State Level.
(c) Centres are to confirm in writing the eligibility of all applicants as per the "B" Grade above.

COST:

At no cost to sit the paper.

WHERE:

"B" Grade practical can be conducted at Association Meeting or other Meetings considered appropriate by the Chief Official.

"A" GRADE OFFICIALS COURSE

WHO:

To be eligible to sit for the Course, applicants have a minimum of two "B" Grades in Field and two "B" Grade in Track. At least two "B" Grades must have be held for two years and the other "B" Grades for at least one year.

STATE "A" GRADE

To be eligible for a State "A" Grading an applicant must hold all "B" Grade Classifications at the time. And must be a Financial Officials Club Member.
