Hot Weather Guidelines
In the event that the temperature forecast for the event day at 11am on
the preceding day (i.e. Saturday 17th January) is for 36 degrees or
greater, then the Hot Weather Program will apply.
Parent Responsibilities
Our centre has been allocated Track 2 to staff continuously throughout the
day. We will divide the day into a number of shifts and will require 4 parents to assist on each
shift. It is anticipated
that each shift will last approximately 1 to 2 hours. All parents of competing
children will be required to assist.
How it works
Athletes from the under 6 to under 10 age groups are able to choose five
events (with at most 3 track or 3 field) and under 11 to under 17 six
events (with at most 3 track and 3 field). Athletes who do more than the
maximum number of events, or too many track (or field) events will not
have their results recorded for the additional events. Athletes select
when they will compete in their events based on the program, which will
be distributed before Personal Best Day. On the day, the athletes go to
their individual events. Track events will be marshalled at the starting
line for the event. Athletes should report directly to their field event
areas, and put their name down on the recording sheet. Due to the large
number of children attending Personal Best Day, it is important you schedule
events across the whole day, as it will not be possible to get everyone
through before lunch time!
All children competing in Personal Best Day will receive a certificate
showing their results at our next Centre meeting following Be Your Best
Day.
