Individual Chamionships
What is it
The 'be active' State Individual Championships is the pinnacle event for many
athletes. Athletes strive throughout the season to qualify to compete at these
championships. All individual events are held for each age group, with medals
presented to the top three placegetters in each.
Who is it for
The SIC's are open to all athletes from the Under 9 to Under 17 age groups.
Athletes must qualify to compete in the championships. To be eligible to enter,
the following criteria must be met:

Athletes must be registered by 31st December 2008

Athletes must have competed in at least half of the meetings held since they
registered. The athlete must compete in at least half of the events programmed
on each occasion.

The qualifying period is from the 1st September 2008 - 23rd February 2009.

Qualifying Standards
must have been met on at least two occasions during this period. Field sizes
may be limited based on performances indicated on entry forms.

Nominations must be lodged with the Centre recorders by the 24th of February.

Parent Responsibilities
We will be allocated duties based on the number of athletes we enter in the
championships. Parent s will be expected to assist for 1 to 2 hours each day
their child is competing.
How it works
Athletes may nominate to compete in up to five events, providing they have met
the qualifying criteria for all of them. Track events up to 400m are run with
heats and finals, the long track events are run as straight finals.
Further instructions will be given to qualified athletes prior to the
championships.
