What is it

State Team represents South Australia at the Australian Little Athletics Team Championships and Multi Event Championship.

Who is it for

All athletes in the under 13 and under 15 athletes are eligible for selection in the State Team.

Parent Responsibilities

Encourage your children to make themselves available for selection. Attending Squad LA and SALAA events like Multi-Event Championships and State Individual Championships as selections are based on performances at Centre Level as well as these State events.

How it works

The Australian Teams Championship is for Under 13 athletes. All events are offered, with two boys and girls able to compete in each event. The team size is limited to 22, so athletes who are able to do more than one event have a distinct advantage.

The Multi-Event Championships are for Under 15 athletes. Two boys and two girls are selected for the multi-event competition.

As the ATC's is a team competition, athletes are selected on their ability to score points for the team. An athlete who has good performances in two or three events can be more valuable to the team than an athlete who can only score in one. A maximum of 22 athletes can be selected.

The Multi Event program is a fixed five event program. All athletes who nominate for the multi event must complete all five events. Two boys and two girls will be selected.
